Grant Writing WorkshopThis comprehensive15-hour workshop covers the diversity of key search engines, grant announcements/guidelines, writing one’s individual grant or idea, and proposal review in what ultimately will constitute a competitive grant. This course is appropriate for beginner and intermediate grant writers, staff from non-profit organizations, educational institutions, and government agencies.

Instructor: Laneika K. Musalini
Laneika K. Musalini received her Bachelor's degree from Anderson University (Anderson, SC), her Master?s degree in Human Resource Development from Clemson University (Clemson, SC), and her Grant Writing Certificate from the University of South Carolina (Columbia, SC). Laneika is also a member of the National Council of University Research Administrators. She has been a Grants professional for more than eleven years. In her career, she has coordinated, managed and written grants in various fashions from the department to the centralized office. Laneika was employed at Clemson University for twelve years, ten of which she worked directly with grants (six years as grants coordinator for a research department and four years as the grants manager for the College of Business and Behavioral Science). Over time, she was able to acquire knowledge in both pre-award and post-award processes. In 2012, Laneika became the Director of Grants Development at Tri-County Technical College where she develops proposals, administers grants and contracts, prepares proposal budgets, provides leadership and direction for proposal development teams, and researches trends, funding opportunity and labor market information. She is also a grants writing consultant for Community Colleges of Appalachia. Laneika has written and received research and programmatic grants from such donors as the Appalachian Regional Council, American Association of Community Colleges, and various government and corporate agencies. Most recently she led a team of eight consortium members on a $22 million federal grant initiative.
