The Nurse Aide is the primary direct care giver in long-term care, home health, hospitals, and private duty services. The demand is great for this healthcare worker due to the aging population. This course is approved by the South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (SCDHHS) and qualifies you to take the SC Nurse Aide Competency Exam, which is required to work in a variety of healthcare facilities and organizations. This exam is also nationally-recognized and will permit you to work in most states throughout the USA. Classroom hours vary from clinical hours. Day classes are usually 5 day a week for 4.0 hours each; Night Theory and Lab Classes are 2 days a week for 3.0 hours each. Night class clinical is scheduled sometimes on Saturdays and Sundays 7:30am-4pm. Theory - Classroom 20 hours Lab Skills - 40 hours Clinical - 40 Hours- 7:30am-4pm M T W R F and sometimes Saturdays and Sundays days vary Field Trip - 5 hours Extra Lab Skill before State Exam - 5 hours Total hours: 110.0 hours
