Introduction to CNC Operator
Dates: September 20 - October 12, 2021
Meets: M and Tu from 5:00 PM to 8:30 PM
Location: IT 127 - Industrial Technology Center, Sandy Springs
Registration/Tuition: $600.00
Sorry, we are no longer accepting registrations for this course. Please contact our office to find out if it will be rescheduled, or if alternative classes are available.
*Required Prerequisite class: Shop Math and Blueprint Reading
This course will give any individual interested in Computer Numerical Controls (CNC) or currently employed machine operators the knowledge needed to confidently and safely load, run, and monitor CNC programs.
Machined product components play a critical role in today's world, and society could not function without them. That's why setting up and programming the machines responsible for producing these components requires skill, precision, and extreme attention to detail.
Our CNC program is an intensive, 6-week class (24 hours), where you will learn:
*to interpret geometric dimensions and tolerances
*the programming, setup, operation, and disassembly of CNC lathes and mills
*the aligning, securing, and adjusting of work pieces and cutting tools
*to monitor machine movement and speed for precision within spec
*to examine completed products for defect and conduct product testing
*best practices, safety, and job planning
Materials and safety glasses are provided. Long pants and close-toed shoes are required at every class.
*Long pants and closed-toe shoes required at every class.
To discuss possible tuition assistance/scholarship opportunities, please contact 864-646-1700.
