DIGITAL LITERACY: PERSONAL TECHNOLOGY – STAY CONNECTED Computer Basics
At the end of the session, learners will be able to:
- Identify and define basic computer components
- Navigate a computer desktop
- Start and shut down a computer
- Create, save, and open a file
- Create and move a file into a folder
- Rename a file and/or folder
Internet Basics
At the end of the session, learners will be able to:
- Understand the basics of web browsers and search engines
- Build skills to navigate the internet, including:
- Using a web browser and using a search engine
- Navigating a website
- Using a web browser and using a search engine
- Learn tips and tricks for basic and advanced search
Cyber Security
At the end of the session, learners will be able to:
· Identify a secure website (i.e. a website that’s safe to create an account on).
· Employ two tips from the workshop to create a strong password that is easy to remember.
· Identify key factors in an email message that indicate a scam.
