A-3 derives its name from the paper size (11x17) that is used to create the A-3 storyboard. Developed by Toyota, A-3 is used for problem-solving, project reports, and proposing policy changes - each complete with a storyline detailing the analysis and thought process behind it.
An A-3 report guides the dialogue and analysis. it identifies the current situation, the nature of the issue, the range of possible countermeasures - and which countermeasure is the best, the means to put it into practice (wh will do what and when), and the evidence that the issue has actually been addressed.
This course focuses solely on this problem-solving method, which is ideally suited for capturing all steps.

2. PDCA - Plan, Do, Check, Act
3. A3 Thinking - elements of A3 thinking / practical problem-solving methods
4. The problem solving A3 report - writing / critiquing

6. The status A3 report - unresolved issues and follow-ups
7. Form and style of reports - graphics / tables
8. Supporting structures - templates / computer generation / coaching / approval
9. Managerial effectiveness
