Basic Motorcycle Class (BC)

Dates: May 31 - June 1, 2025

Meets: Sa and Su from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM

Location: AQ 012 - Anderson QuickJobs Center, Industrial Lab

Notes: ONLY students with CURRENT SC DRIVERS' LICENSES will receive the motorcycle endorsement to waive the SCDMV on-cycle license test.

The class includes the permit test, if needed.

If you are under 18, you must have a parent or guardian to sign for consent to participate on the first day of the class.

NO FULL REFUND WILL BE GIVEN UNLESS THE CLASS IS CANCELLED. IF THERE IS A VALID REASON FOR CANCELLATION, THERE WILL BE A $50 PROCESSING FEE. TO RESCHEDULE A CLASS, THERE WILL BE A $25 SERVICE CHARGE.

Description:
Basic Motorcycle Class (BC) Is designed for individuals with little or no riding experience. The class teaches basic techniques of riding a motorcycle. Training motorcycles will be provided.  Students must pass both written and riding assessments to progress through the program and receive a completion certificate.

Motorcycling requires good physical and mental skills, our measure of success in this course is that you have a safe and enjoyable learning experience.  You will be expected to progress safely through the training. If at anytime you become unsafe you will not be allowed to continue.

All students must complete a five hour online eCourse before attending using the link below.

All Students must arrive with and wear the following required protective clothing and gear or you will not be permitted to participate.

A helmet which meets U.S. DOT, ANSI Z90.1 or Snell safety standards.
Eye protection (a face shield is recommended).
Over-the-ankle footwear with a low heel.
Pants of denim or material of equivalent or greater durability.
A long-sleeved jacket or shirt.
A pair of sturdy full finger gloves (bicycling-style gloves are not acceptable).

 

Benefits:
Motorcycles are provided for students to ride during the course. Students who successfully complete the course are eligible for an insurance discount. Successful completion qualifies you for a waiver of the SCDMV on-cycle license test ONLY for students with CURRENT SC DRIVERS' LICENSES.

Schedule:
Saturday 8:00 am to 6:00 pm AND Sunday 8:00 am to 6:00 pm Classes take place rain or shine, with rare exceptions made when lightning or other severe weather conditions create a hazard to students. The schedule may vary due to class size and weather.  You will not be allowed to continue if you become a danger to yourself or others.
